Citizen Scientist Of NASA Discovered Exo Planet The Size Of Jupiter

The exoplanet known as TOI – 2180b was discovered in the data from NASA TESS – Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. This exoplanet is three times the mass of Jupiter but emerges to have the same diameter, this means that it is denser than Jupiter.

This new planet may have 105 Earth’s masses which is worth for elements heavier than hydrogen and helium.

That’s a lot. That’s more than what we suspect we have inside Jupiter, said, Sirr Paul Dalba, Astronomer at the University Of California, Riverside, and lead the author of the study.

But compared to the array of transiting giant exoplanets that astronomers have found orbiting other stars, TOI – 2180b is abnormally chilly, NASA said.

With an average temperature of 170 deg F, this planet is warmer than the room temperature on Earth. The study also suggests that the planet is a bit further from the star than Venus is from the Sun.
