The first vaccine for Coronavirus is from Johnson & Johnson as its vaccine has proved effective against the COIVID- 19 501Y.V2 variants,  there are other vaccines which are Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and AstraZeneca-Oxford University have been approved In the UK.

In the US, all of them have been authorized except AstraZeneca’s. Each is given as a shot in the muscle of the upper arm, some vaccines require multiple doses given weeks or months apart.

This is sometimes needed to allow for the production of long-lived antibodies and the development of memory cells. The Pfizer is 95% effective with two does need and 21 days apart, Moderna 94% effective with two does need and 28 days apart or up to six weeks apart if needed and with Johnson & Johnson 66% effective only one does is needed.

In this way, the body is trained to fight the specific disease-causing organism, building up memory against the pathogen so it can fight it in the future.

There are three types of vaccines for forming SARS-CoV-2 proteins to promote an immune response. The RNA vaccine which includes Pfizer and Moderna acts as a messenger to cause the cells to build up foreign protein and stimulate an adaptive immune response which teaches the body how to identify and destroy the corresponding pathogen.

Subunit vaccine presents one or more antigens without introducing whole pathogen particles. It includes peptide and ZF2001, and viral vector vaccine it includes Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca it uses an adenovirus shell containing DNA that encodes a SARS-CoV-2 protein.

The viral vector-based vaccines against COVID-19 are non-replicating, meaning that they do not make new virus particles, but rather produce the only antigen which elicits a systemic immune response.

All vaccines that are administered via intramuscular injection, including the COVID-19 Vaccine, have side effects related to the mild trauma associated with the procedure and the introduction of foreign substances into the body.

This includes soreness, redness, rash, and inflammation at the injection site. Other common side effects include fatigue, headache, myalgia which is muscle pain, and arthralgia which is joint pain where it generally resolves within few days.

This happens because your immune system is instructing your body to react in certain ways it increases your body temperature to kill the virus.
