Month-end data from the Central Energy Fund shows that motorists might be up for a bigger-than-expected hike this week.
According to the latest data, petrol price recoveries dropped even deeper into the red and diesel recoveries have continued to deteriorate.
The petrol prices may increase by between 18 and 21 cents per litre, while diesel prices could increase by around 62 to 65 cents per litre.
BusinessTech reports that higher global oil prices are the main driver behind the increases.
The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will announce the official price changes soon.
