Women are calling for the age limit for employment opportunities to be increased, saying the current age restriction is limiting access for many women.
The call was made during the Women’s Parliament programme held in Okiep yesterday.
Addressing the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature, Cathy Dlodlo said the current age limit of 35 years excludes many women who still need opportunities to enter the workforce.
She called for consideration to be given to older women who are seeking employment and economic opportunities.
The Women’s Parliament provided a platform for women to raise concerns and make recommendations on issues affecting their livelihoods and participation in the economy.
