Northern Cape Cooperative Governance Housing Settlement and Traditional Affairs (GOGHSTA) MEC Lebogang Motlhaping is expected to hand over completed houses in Onseepkans, in the Khâi-Ma Local Municipality in the Namakwa District on 22 September 2026.

The handover will bring together Namakwa District Executive Mayor Councillor Alinda Beukes, Khâi-Ma Mayor Councillor Estelle Cloete and other local leaders from the community.

The department says the project is expected to provide improved living conditions for beneficiaries while contributing to efforts to restore dignity and strengthen communities.

Department spokesperson Tebogo Monyo says the handover forms part of government’s ongoing housing delivery programme in the region, with attention focused on providing communities with access to formal housing.
