The Office of the Namakwa Executive Mayor has called for a full-scale investigation into a school bus accident that happened on the road between Soebatsfontein and Komaggas on Monday.

Two pupils and the driver are being treated at a medical facility in Springbok after the bus overturned.

Executive Mayor Mervin Cloete said the municipality is deeply shaken and heartbroken by the incident.

He described reports of an unroadworthy bus and poor road conditions as extremely disturbing and said the safety of children is non-negotiable.

Cloete has demanded full accountability and a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are held to account and similar accidents are prevented.
