Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has ruled out major tax changes in the February 25 budget but underscored the need to keep South Africa’s fiscal consolidation on track.
Speaking to Bloomberg Television at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Godongwana said government does not intend making major, substantial tax adjustments.
He added that fiscal discipline remains critical, noting that while consolidation alone will not drive growth, it is essential to enable other growth-enhancing policies.
