The Northern Cape Consumer Protection Authority says local businesses in the Namakwa region are largely compliant with regulations governing the sale of products to community members. 

This follows a series of follow-up inspections conducted over the past week in Nieuwoudtville and Loeriesfontein, where officials monitored compliance at local tuck shops.

Inspectors assessed whether businesses were adhering to trading regulations aimed at protecting consumer health and safety. 

Residents are being advised to remain vigilant by checking expiry and sell-by dates before purchasing goods.

The department says inspections will continue across the region to ensure ongoing compliance and consumer protection.
