The South African Nama Development Association (SANDEVA) says it is moving forward with efforts to achieve its mission of rebirthing Nama as a living mother tongue.

This comes as the Richtersveld Local Municipality hosts a three-day Basic Namagowab Proficiency Training Workshop and Funda Mzantsi Book Club Championships at McDougall’s Bay Caravan Park in Port Nolloth.

This comes as the Richtersveld Local Municipality togetehr with provincial governement stakeholders held a three-day Basic Namagowab Proficiency Training Workshop and Funda Mzantsi Book Club Championships at McDougall’s Bay Caravan Park in Port Nolloth.

The association says the training forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen Namagowab proficiency, promote literacy and ensure the language remains relevant and actively used within communities.  

The programme was held from 31 August to 2 September  in efforts to promote reading, cultural development and community participation.
