Orion Minerals says there are developments in the pipeline for the Namakwa Region, which could provide a boost to the local economy.

The mining company says it remains confident in its plans following the 2025 Definitive Feasibility Study on the Prieska Copper Zinc Mine, which outlined robust financial and technical outcomes under a two-phase development strategy.

Orion Minerals General Manager Johannes Van Dyk says the company is currently engaging with the Industrial Development Corporation on the way forward.

Van Dyk says details on the proposed developments and plans will be communicated to communities once discussions have progressed.
