The Community Police Forum in the Namakwa region is calling for safe and supportive spaces where survivors and victims of gender-based violence and femicide can speak openly about their experiences.

The call comes amid concerns that some victims may hesitate to report cases to authorities because of fears about their privacy, being judged, or possible repercussions from perpetrators.

The CPF says creating an environment where survivors feel heard and supported could encourage more people to seek help and report incidents.

Speaking on the issue, CPF representative Sandra Beukes called on communities to unite in addressing GBVF and supporting those affected.

She urged residents to stand together against gender-based violence and work towards communities where victims and survivors can access support without fear or stigma.
