In the heart of the Namakwa District, hope endures despite the pain, as yesterday marked exactly one full year since 14-year-old David Waterboer vanished without a trace from Nababeep on 7 February 2025.

The young Grade 7 learner from Sacred Heart Primary School was last seen by his mother in the morning before she headed to work; he had planned to attend an athletics event in nearby Concordia but never returned home.

His family remain steadfast in their anguish and tireless appeals, urging communities across the Northern Cape to keep sharing his story and any possible leads.

Police investigations by the Namakwa police and the provincial Hawks, continues with a previous R75,000 reward offered for credible information, yet no breakthrough has emerged after 366 days.

On Satuirday, February 07, a special prayer vigil in white attire will gather loved ones and supporters in remembrance, keeping the flame of hope alive for David's safe return, anyone with information is urged to contact nearest police station immediately.
