Two learners from Namakwaland High School, Abigail Engelbrecht and Daleen Bester, recently showcased their artistic talent by illustrating what water means to them.
The school says their work forms part of a national project where young artists and scientists were invited to share perspectives on the importance of water in communities and daily life.
Participants were also required to submit a short written introduction alongside their art pieces.
The project is supported by North West University’s Research Unit for Self-Directed Learning, in cooperation with the University of the Western Cape and the Iziko Museums of South Africa.
The school says it is proud of the two “Bokkies” whose winning artworks have been selected for publication in a book.
