The Northern Cape Department of Housing says it is pleased with progress on the Concordia housing project.

This follows an oversight visit and the handover of keys by MEC Bentley Vass, alongside the Namakwa District Municipality, to project beneficiaries on Wednesday, March 19.

The development forms part of a one billion rand housing initiative, with twenty of the planned twenty-nine houses handed over so far.

MEC Vass says that progress has been slowed by the need to source building materials from Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Vass expressed appreciation to the Nama Khoi Municipality for ensuring that water and electricity connections are up to date.
