Northern Cape SAPS has elected a new Provincial Youth Desk structure during an event held in Colesberg on Saturday, March 28.

The gathering brought together provincial and district leadership, community policing forums, and youth representatives to strengthen crime prevention efforts.

Key discussions focused on challenges facing young people, including gender-based violence, substance abuse, and social issues affecting communities.

Siphiwe Ngcongco was elected as Provincial Chairperson, alongside a team tasked with driving youth empowerment and community engagement.

Police say the initiative aims to build strong partnerships and encourage young leaders to play an active role in promoting safety and fighting crime.
