The Namakwa District Municipality has conducted an outreach programme yesterday at Huis Harmonie in Bergsig aimed at supporting elderly residents.

The initiative was led by Speaker Councillor Gillian Pieters and included the handover of blankets, as well as the distribution of Easter eggs to residents.

Executive Mayor Councillor Alinda Beukes also attended the event, demonstrating continued support for senior citizens in the district.

A highlight of the visit was the celebration of a resident, Ouma Lilly, who marked her 90th birthday during the programme.

The municipality also distributed radios to residents without access, reaffirming its commitment to keeping the elderly informed and supported.
