The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, CSIR, has announced a series of public briefing sessions as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment for the proposed Boegoe Baai Port, Special Economic Zone, and Namakwa Region development.

The sessions fall under Work Package 2 and will present draft findings from specialist studies to communities, stakeholders, and interested parties across the region.

The CSIR says the purpose of the sessions is to provide updates on the assessment process and to allow members of the public to engage, ask questions, and give input on the project.

Meetings are scheduled from the 21st to the 23rd of April 2026 in Springbok, Port Nolloth, Pofadder, and Garies at designated community halls.
