The latest data from the Central Energy Fund shows that motorists can expect another significant jump in fuel prices next month.
According to the group’s data, petrol prices could rise by around three-rand-63 per litre and diesel prices may increase by ten-rand-84 per litre.
The price of illuminating paraffin could also climb by eight-rand-54 per litre.
While the data points to a positive trajectory for fuel prices in South Africa, it is still a long way from a positive outcome for motorists.
Aluma Capital’s Chief Economist, Frederick Mitchell, says the fuel levy may be implemented in full next month, leading to even higher prices.
