The Northern Cape Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA) MEC Bentley Vass will hand over completed houses to beneficiaries at the Concordia 29 Housing Project in the Nama-Khoi Local Municipality on Wednesday, July 22.
The department says the handover forms part of the Northern Cape Government's One Billion Rand Housing Project, launched in 2024 to reduce the province's housing backlog.
Vass, will be accompanied by Namakwa District Executive Mayor Alinda Beukes and local leaders, also planted trees to help green and beautify the housing development.
The handover follows last week's delivery of 25 completed houses at the Calvinia 200 Housing Project in Hantam Local Municipality.
Department spokesperson Tebogo Monyo says the housing programme continues to improve access to decent housing for communities across the Northern Cape.
