The Richtersveld Municipality has introduced a debt-relief programme that will run over the next three financial years, from 2026/27 to 2028/29.
The municipality says initiative aims to assist qualifying residents in settling outstanding municipal debt while improving revenue collection.
The municipality says the programme forms part of its efforts to provide financial relief to struggling households and encourage payment compliance.
Residents are expected to be informed about the qualifying criteria and application process through official municipal communication channels.
The local municipality mayor Cornel Knoph urge eligible account holders to make use of the programme once applications open.
