Another sad loss has struck Community Policing Forum members in the Northern Cape, following the death of a Namakwa District CPF member.

Anita Klassen, from Port Nolloth, passed away on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. The provincial board structure confirmed the passing of late Klassen on Thursday, September 03.

Her death comes less than two weeks after the passing of Sharon Le Britton from Calvinia, who served as secretary of the Namakwa CPF Board.

Le Britton’s passing had already left CPF members and communities across the district mourning the loss of a dedicated community safety advocate. Her funeral is expected to take place this weekend, with colleagues and community members expected to pay their final respects.

The latest loss of Klassen has added to the grief being experienced within CPF structures in the Northern Cape. Klassen was a member of the CPF in Port Nolloth, where she contributed to community policing efforts.

Her passing has prompted condolences from fellow CPF members and the wider Namakwa community.
