Young scientists from the Namakwa Region have been selected to represent the region at the 2026 Eskom Expo International Science Fair in Boksburg, Gauteng.

The pupils continued the Eskom Expo process, strengthening their research projects before securing their positions at the international science expo.

Representing the Namakwa Region are Kaila Viljoen and Elizabeth de Kock from Calvinia Primary School, and Unonhlanhla Smit and Alishè Malgas from Carnarvon High School.

The 2026 International Science Fair is scheduled to run from 29 September to 2 October.

The Eskom Expo Namakwa Region congratulated the selected students and encouraged them to continue developing their projects as they prepare to showcase their research on a global stage.
