The Namakwa District Department of Education has been recognised for having one of the province’s strongest National School Nutrition Programme structures. 

The district, together with the National School Nutrition Programme Division, recently represented Namakwa in Kimberley where education districts from across the Northern Cape showcased their programmes and systems.

Officials praised Namakwa schools for consistently providing healthy and balanced meals to learners while maintaining high programme standards. 

The achievement has been attributed to the combined efforts of schools, educators, support staff and communities working together to support learners.

Special recognition was given to the district office and the dedicated National School Nutrition Programme team for their commitment and ongoing support to schools across Namakwa.
