Young scientists from across the Namakwa District are preparing for the upcoming Eskom Expo Regional Science Fairs 2026 after qualifying for this year's competition. 

Eskom Expo says project set-up for the Calvinia regional fair is scheduled for August 5, with judging and the awards ceremony taking place on August 6, while the Springbok regional fair will be held on August 10 & 11. 

The announcement follows the completion of the Eskom Expo Project Upgrade Camps, where learners refined their research projects and strengthened their scientific investigations ahead of the regional competitions. 

Learners from schools, including Hoërskool Hantam in Calvinia, participated in the camps as part of their preparations. 

Eskom Expo has congratulated all qualifying learners and wished them well as they showcase their research and innovation at the regional science fairs.
