MEC for CoGHSTA Bentley Vass has paid a condolence visit to the family of his long-serving Private Secretary, Jeffrey Saal, following his passing on 17 July 2026.

Accompanied by Head of Ministry Mayenzeke Mbekushe and departmental officials, MEC Vass conveyed his heartfelt sympathies and honoured Mr Saal's dedication, professionalism and years of loyal service.

The MEC assured the bereaved family of the Department's full support during this difficult time as they prepare for the funeral. Mr Saal will be laid to rest in Nababeep, Springbok, on Saturday, 25 July 2026, with further funeral details to be announced next week.

The Department has described Mr Saal as a respected colleague and leader whose legacy will be remembered with gratitude and affection.
