Okiep Primary School pupils have taken part in a community tour aimed at giving them practical insight into the different role players in their town today. 

The school says as part of their educational trip, the learners visited several local institutions, including the Okiep Hotel, Radio NFM and the Nama-Khoi Municipality. 

At the Okiep Hotel, pupils were introduced to the hospitality sector, while their visit to Radio NFM exposed them to the media industry. 

At the Nama-Khoi Municipality, they learned more about local government and service delivery. 

Educator Carli Wepener says the tour forms part of the school’s theme, “My Community,” encouraging learners to explore their surroundings, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the community in which they live.
