The NSFAS Board has welcomed a Pretoria High Court judgment granting interim relief, suspending the appointment of the NSFAS Administrator and reinstating the Board pending the outcome of further court proceedings.
The Board says it will resume its duties immediately, focusing on stabilising the institution, strengthening governance and providing financial assistance to eligible students.
NSFAS has also acknowledged concerns raised publicly about the organisation and says any wrongdoing, misconduct or unlawful conduct identified will be addressed through appropriate processes.
The Board has reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Higher Education and Training Minister and other stakeholders.
NSFAS says it will not comment further while the matter remains before the courts.
