The Namakwa District Department of Health says eye surgeries were successfully conducted at Nababeep Community Health Centre on Thursday, 11 September 2026.

Department Sister Debby Saal says eye surgeries were successfully conducted at Nababeep Community Health Centre on yesterday.

The surgeries were carried out in partnership with Caring4Sight, providing essential eye-care services to people who may not be able to afford private medical treatment.

The department says communities from the Nama-Khoi, Richtersveld and Khâi-Ma sub-districts benefited from the service delivery outreach.

Saal says the partnership with Caring4Sight is helping restore sight and dignity to people affected by cataracts across the region.

The department has welcomed the continued collaboration, saying it is making quality eye-care services more accessible to vulnerable communities.
