The call for greater accountability has emerged as a key issue during the Nama-Khoi Political Debate on Monday, 29 September 2026.

The Namakwa Civic Movement told the public that communities need to take an active role in holding government departments accountable for fulfilling their mandates.

The party said government institutions must also play their part in addressing challenges faced by communities across Nama-Khoi.

NCM mayoral candidate Dr Gustav Bock says institutions such as local TVET colleges need to be strengthened to help address scarce skills in the region.

Bock says improving skills development could contribute to community development and create opportunities for residents.
