Water challenges remained a key issue during the Nama-Khoi Political Debate on Monday, 29 September 2026, with residents raising concerns about ongoing disruptions.
Responding to a question on the situation in Concordia, the Namakwa Civic Movement attributed the continued water challenges to what it described as insufficient cooperation from national government.
NCM mayoral candidate Dr Gustav Bock said the municipality is making efforts to address the challenges affecting the community.
Bock claimed that national government constraints are making it difficult for the local municipality to implement solutions effectively.
He alleged that national government is placing additional pressure on the municipality despite its efforts to improve water service delivery.
