The Democratic Alliance has reaffirmed its position on service-delivery concerns raised by opposition parties during a political debate in Okiep on Monday, 29 September 2026.

ANC candidate and second-term councillor for Komaggas, Amos Palori, questioned DA mayoral candidate for Nama-Khoi Local Municipality, Rodney Kritzinger, about ongoing water challenges affecting his area.

Palori said he had repeatedly raised residents’ grievances with the council and municipality, but claimed their concerns had fallen on deaf ears.

I n response, Kritzinger said the municipality is currently working on finding solutions to the water challenges.

Kritzinger said that the concerns have been heard and assured residents that the municipality will deliver on addressing the matter.
