The Namakwa District Commissioner, Brigadier Schalk Andrews, have welcomed the conviction and sentencing of 23-year-old Wilken Cloete in the Garies Regional Court for the rape of a 15-year-old girl at a residence in Leliefontein in October 2024.
Regional police spokesperson Cpt. Ivan Magerman says the accused, who was known to the victim, entered the home late at night and committed the crime while other family members were present. (Clip)
