The Khoi/San ancestral bones are set to return home to the Namakwa region, with communities called to unite in honour of this historic event.

The remains will arrive tomorrow in Garies, within the Kamiesberg Local Municipality, ahead of their final resting place in Steinkopf on Monday, 23 March.

Tessa Davis from the Iziko Museums of South Africa says this event signals the cultural, spiritual, and historical significance of the reburial.

She says that returning the bones to their rightful resting place is vital for healing, recognition, and respect for Khoi and San communities. (Clip)
