Community activists in the Namakwa region have expressed concern about the impact of the continued killing of women and children on the next generation.

The concern was raised during a prayer session held by Namakwa regional communities in Springbok on Friday, 18 September 2026.

Community activist Washila Boois says society needs to take action now to address violence and restore order within communities.

Boois says communities must work together to create safer environments where women and children are protected from violence.

The activists are calling on residents to stand together, speak out against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, and help build peaceful communities.
