Police in the Namakwa District have arrested two men in separate drug-related incidents in Nababeep as part of Operation Paseka – Safer Easter Holidays.
In the first incident, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Bostreet, where a 38-year-old suspect was found with suspected tik and cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
In a second, unrelated case, a 23-year-old man was arrested in Vredehoek after attempting to flee, discarding suspected drugs and money during a chase.
Cpt Ivan Magerman, district police spokesperson says both suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of dealing in drugs.
Magerman says operations will continue with intensified patrols and a zero-tolerance approach to crime in the district.
