Delycia De Klerk has been introduced as the Democratic Alliance candidate for Ward 2 of the Richtersveld Local Municipality, covering Sanddrift and Lekkersing.

De Klerk will contest the ward against the African National Congress’s current Ward 2 councillor and candidate, Marlene Fredericks.

De Klerk said community service is about building, serving and making a difference where she lives, rather than holding a title.

She served on a school governing body and was involved in voluntary community work, supporting children and residents in her community.

As a young candidate, De Klerk said she brings a fresh perspective, energy and a commitment to service, development and active community involvement.
