The Memorial Service to honor the late propitious adolescent boy in sport is underway in Port Nolloth.
This comes after a young promising soccer player from Port Nolloth passed away on Wednesday, 20 December 2023.
The local soccer team, Heroes Football Club confirmed the death of Danny “Dan-Rico” Swartz on Thursday. The cause of the death was not disclosed.
Heroes FC on their Facebook page described the deceased as a humble hardworking boy, who always gave his best for the team,
“Danny hardly ever complained and always played with a smile. He leaves a great emptiness for his team, family, friends, and community. We will always remember him for who he was, a kind gentle soul,” the statement said.
Sources say that Dan-Rico was a big fan of Chelsea FC an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. His dream was to play for one of the soccer national teams, unfortunately, his life journey has been cut short.
