Lucky was in favor of more than fifty Namaqualand’s. Their layby outstanding amounts were settled by “Secret Santa”.

A week before Christmas, a good Samaritan, whose identity remains anonymous, paid off a number of Namakwa residents’ layby remaining costs at one of South Africa’s leading retail clothing store in Springbok.

According to an employee, this was the first time a random person entered their store and stretched their hand.

“We were surprised when this person offered to pay for customer laybys without having an agenda. Not everyone would go to such an extent for strangers,” said the employee.

Secret Santa felt generosity, blessing people from different backgrounds and reducing the financial burden.

The employee added, “The South African economy has everyone needing to prioritize essential goods. Festival season is a joyous time. Secret Santa said that people can save for January or spend their money on other basic needs.”.

The local retail store employee said that the head office was told, and they were thankful to the person.

One of the beneficiaries disclosed to Radio NFM News that they were in tears when they went to the retail store to pay, only to find out that it had already been settled.

“I was confused. I called my grandson to see if they paid, but no. I am thankful to the person who paid. No amount of words can describe the gratitude I have,” they said.

As expected, the rumor ran as fast as the wind. People flocked to the retail store to inquire regarding their own lay-by.

The employee said that the customers were selected at random and they did not influence.
